DFRduino Mega is 100% same as the original Arduino Mega.

The Arduino Mega is a microcontroller board based on the ATmega1280. It has 54 digital input/output pins (of which 14 can be used as PWM outputs), 16 analog inputs, 4 UARTs (hardware serial ports), a 16 MHz crystal oscillator, a USB connection, a power jack, an ICSP header, and a reset button. It contains everything needed to support the microcontroller; simply connect it to a computer with a USB cable or power it with a AC-to-DC adapter or battery to get started. The Mega is compatible with most shields designed for the Arduino Duemilanove or Diecimila.

Shield Compatibility

The arduino Mega is designed to be compatible with most shields designed for the Diecimila or Duemilanove. Digital pins 0 to 13 (and the adjacent AREF and GND pins), analog inputs 0 to 5, the power header, and ICSP header are all in equivalent locations. Further the main UART (serial port) is located on the same pins (0 and 1), as are external interrupts 0 and 1 (pins 2 and 3 respectively). SPI is available through the ICSP header on both the Mega and Duemilanove / Diecimila. Please note that I2C is not located on the same pins on the Mega (20 and 21) as the Duemilanove / Diecimila (analog inputs 4 and 5).

Gravity: 1602 LCD Keypad Shield For Arduino

INTRODUCTION

This is a very popular LCD Keypad shield for Arduino and other variants. It includes a 2x16 LCD display and 6 momentary push buttons. Pins 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 and 10 are used to interface with the LCD. Just one Analog Pin 0 is used to read the five pushbuttons. The LCD shield supports contrast adjustment and back-lit on/off functions. It also exposes five analog pins with KDRobotKit color code for easy analog sensor plugging and display. The on board LED indicates power on.

This lcd arduino shield has 5 keys — select, up, right, down and left which allow you move through menus and make selections straight from one board attached to your Arduino project without requiring a massive tower of shields.

This design allows you keep connecting sensors to the rest of the pins, and use it for monitoring or menu selection with the push buttons even for gaming. Project applications require testing or debugging. Displaying information right away help on most occasions when a computer is not at reach. If you are planning to build something not attached to a computer and you need to check what is going on when you place it on position, this addition will prove very valuable to make sure the program is running well.

The used LCD pins are not exposed on top side of the board leaving only the unused ones. This way, conflict with LCD pins on top of the board will not happen anymore. This design includes a APC / Bluetooth v3 socket to enable you data transmission with your robot.

URM37 V5.0 Ultrasonic Sensor For Arduino / Raspberry Pi

INTRODUCTION

URM37 V5.0 is a powerful ultrasonic sensor mudule with bulit-in temperature compensation to ensure accurate distance measurement in the scene of temperature-changing applications. It has rich interface and offers various output: analog output, switch, serial (TTL and RS232 level optional), PWM and so on. With analog mode, the sensor outputs voltage which is proportional with distance, it can be connected to Arduino, Raspberry Pi and LattePanda(windows 10 development board). The module can be used to measure the rotation angle of the servo. Connected with an external servo, it changes into a spatial ultrasonic scanner. URM37 has been on the market for many years and plays an important role in various fields, and we are constantly optimizing and improving it. The mechanical size, pin interface and communication commands of this version（V5.0）are compatible with older versions. Based on the old version, the following improvements have been made:

• The range has been increased from 5~500cm to 2~800cm


• The ranging performance is very stable at the voltage range of 3.3V~5.5V.

URM37 V5.0 Ultrasonic sensor, the current version has better intelligence capabilities, meanwhile, mechanical dimensions and pin interface and communication commands are compatible with V4.0: 

• Out of the use of a better ranging method, the measurement distance is further and more stable. if there is a need for customization, please contact the company.


• The module uses RS232 serial port for higher reliability, and the data can be collected through the computer serial port, which is very convenient to write communication programs.


• Serial level selected from the skipped stitches to button, user can easily select RS232 or TTL-level output level output by pressing the settings( after reboot ).


• The measured distance can be output via PWM, which eases the use process of the module.


• Pre-set a comparative value for the module, under the mode of automatic measurement, if the measured distance value is smaller than the pre-set value, the pin COMP/Trig will output a low level. In this way, this module can be used as an ultrasonic proximity switch.


• The module is equipped with the funciton of servo controlling. Under the mode of non-automatic measurement, it can combine with a servo into a 180° measuring module to scan the obstacles at the range of 0~180°.


• The module has a 123 bytes of EEPROM to memory whose values are kept when the board is turned off.


• The built-in temperature compensation circuit of the module is able to increase the accurary of the measurement.


• The module has a bulit-in temperature measurement component to read the environmental temperature with a resolution of 0.1℃.

• Automatic measurement of time interval can be modified.

Xbee Shield for Arduino

INTRODUCTION

The Arduino XBee shield is designed to meet  wireless sensor networks such as wifi, bluetooth 2.0/4.0 and zigbee. The module is easy to use, low power consumption, and the provision of critical data between devices reliable transmission. 

This xbee shield for arduino can be directly stack on top of Arduino Uno / Leonardo and Mega. It provides a 5-3.3V voltage converter to allow 3.3V communication modules to interface Arduino 5V system.  

The compatibility of this arduino xbee shield is now extremely good.  It supports not only  zigbee module, but also wifi and bluetooth module.  Such as Wifi  bee, Bluetooth 2.0 Bee Ready Board , Bluetooth 4.0 Bee Ready Board.   It also supports the most popular Esp8266 wifi bee module.

INTRODUCTION

The KDRobotKit Relay Module is a standard relay used with a controller board to interface external electrical circuits or modules. Some of the most common applications with Arduino are: Home lighting, electrical appliances of high power and other equipments. The modular design makes it easy to integrate with a controller board. The Relay integrates a status LED, in order to acknowledge visually it's status ON or OFF. It can be controlled through the digital IO port, with a simple HIGH or LOW on Arduino compatible boards. Other boards will work requiring same voltage level. Other usages include control of solenoid valves, lamps, motors and other high current or high voltage devices.

Turtle: 2WD Arduino Mobile Robot Platform

INTRODUCTION

The 2WD Mobile Robot Platform for Arduino is a small, low-cost mobile platform for use with a standard Arduino microcontroller. The robot comes as a kit which includes two drive motors, wheels (and rear caster ball), frame and all mounting hardware. The main structure and mechanical parts for a robot.

This KDRobotKit mobile robot platform is widely used as self-developed control chasis for Arduino platforms and other control boards. This kit features the following: two differential drives, near zero turning radius, high-strength aluminum alloy body material, motors and a flexible rubber wheel makes it suitable for indoor flat road surface and flat-platform robot completitions. The top layer includes a standard servo socket and the three optional sensor holder. This three sensor holder fits with our adjustable IR range sensor. The servo can be used for a simple rotation platform, a two degrees of freedom camera holder or even a robotic arm. 

To make this lovely robot run, you will need a motor controller and microcontroller board. Our Romeo V2-All in one Controller is an ideal candidate for this, it includes an Arduino compatible platform directly programable via USB, a motor controller with external power option, integrated optional buttons and sensor connection sockets like our famous expansion shields.

MDV 2x2A DC Motor Controller (L298N)

INTRODUCTION

This is a 4.8-46V, 2A Dual Motor Controller which is the revised version of the DF-MDV1.0. Its performance has been improved greatly. It can bear larger current due to the increased heat-sink dissipation. It is easy to control, using LGS's outstanding high-power motor driver chip, the L298N. This chip allows for direct drive of two bi-directional DC motors, and incorporates high-speed short diodes for protection. Drive current up to 2A per motor output. The driver uses a broad-brush design to reduce wire resistance.

This breakout module with standard screw holes will help on applications and devices with flat spaces, so you don't need to use the Arduino stacked up shield.

DFRduino Nano V3.1 (Arduino Nano Compatible)

INTRODUCTION

The DFRduino Nano USB Microcontroller V3.1 (ATMega 328) is a breadboard ready version of the Arduino mini with integrated USB. The arduino Nano has everything that the Diecimila has (electronically) with more analog input pins and an on-board +5V AREF jumper. The arduino Nano automatically senses and switches to the higher power supply, so there is no need for a power select jumper.

 

The nano's pin layout works well with the Mini or the Basic Stamp (TX, RX, ATN, GND on one top, power and ground on the other). The KDRobotKit DFRduino Nano USB Microcontroller V3.1 (ATMega 328) can be powered via the mini-B USB connection, 6-20V unregulated external power supply (pin 30), or 5V regulated external power supply (pin 27). The power source is automatically selected to the highest voltage source.

Gravity: Nano I/O Shield for Arduino Nano

INTRODUCTION

The Arduino Nano I/O  Sensor Shield acts as an expansion board for the Arduino Nano and DFRduino Nano microcontrollers. There are several different options for power input. The form factor of the Nano I/O Shield board is the same as the Arduino UNO/arduino Leonardo. In addition, the sensor shield adopts Gravity interface that each pinout includes 5V and GND pins for easy connection to Gravity sensors or servos. To the best compatibility, the shield supports jumper wires for rapid prototyping. 

This unit comes fully assembled. The board also has a space specifically for the KDRobotKit bluetooth module and ACP220. Several I2C pins are also expanded.

The arduino nano shield has independent power supply to provide extra power for servo and other sensors.

2x2A DC Motor Shield for Arduino

INTRODUCTION

Arduino product family is a great learning platform for electronics, programming and robotics. But most projects at some point require mobility. This Arduino motor shield allows for motor control with Arduino right away. Stack up this shield on your controller and drive 2 DC motors with  higher power requirements. Depending on the motor of choice, you can make it fast or handle a higher payload. This Arduino Motor Shield (2A) uses L298P chip which allow to drive two 7-12V DC motors with maximum 2A current. This arduino motor shield can be directly mounted onto standard Arduino Uno and Arduino Mega.
 

Speed control is achieved through conventional PWM which can be obtained from Arduino’s PWM output Pin 5 and 6. The enable/disable function of the motor control is signaled by Arduino Digital Pin 4 and 7. The Motor shield can be powered directly from Arduino or from external power source. It is strongly encouraged to use external power supply to power the motor shield.

This arduino motor shield is ideal for building Arduino robot or other Arduino motor control projects. 

There is another version of 2x2A motor shield (Twin) which uses different pins to avoid conflicting pin allocation.

The upgraded KDRobotKit Xbee USB adapter is designed for the XBee module configuration parameters to facilitate using or to work as a FTDI writer. Gravity: Analog LM35 Temperature Sensor For Arduino

INTRODUCTION

This is an Arduino Temperature Sensor based on LM35 temperature chip. A Temperature Sensor can be used to detect ambient air temperature.

The LM35 chip is produced by National Semiconductor Corporation and offers a functional range between 0 degree Celsius to 100 degree Celsius with a sensitivity of 10mV per degree Celsius. The output voltage is proportional to the temperature.

It is commonly used as a temperature measurement sensors. It includes thermocouples, platinum resistance, thermal resistance and temperature semiconductor chips, which commonly used in high temperature measurement thermocouples. Platinum resistance temperature used in the measurement of 800 degrees Celsius, while the thermal resistance and semiconductor temperature sensor suitable for measuring the temperature of 100-200 degrees or below, in which the application of a simple semiconductor temperature sensor has good linearity and high sensitivity. The LM35 linear temperature sensor and sensor-specific expansion of Arduino board, in combination, can be very easy to achieve. The LM35 linear temperature sensor pin definitions: (1) Output (2) complex (3) power.

To ease the difficult of using this sensor,  a Gravity Interface is adapted to allow plug&play.  The Arduino IO expansion shield is the best match for this sound senor connecting to your Arduino. As this sensor can work at 3.3V which make it compatible with Raspberry Pi, intel edison, joule and curie nano.
